“Don’t you guys know how to spell Java?” Yeah, we know how to spell Java. “Jahva” is our own creation. The first three letters explain it all. "Sing unto God, sing praises to His name: extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him." Psalm 68:4 KJV. Jah is a name of God and the reason why we’re doing this coffeehouse.

Seven years ago I remember sitting outside with a friend, telling her of my dream of opening a Christian coffeehouse. I wanted to provide a fun, positive atmosphere and make drinks that would put Starbucks out of business. Back then it was only a dream and, in my mind, something that would never be possible. Well, after several years of prayer, researching the coffee industry, attending trade shows, reading everything I can get my hands, and writing a business plan the size of the Bible (but not as well written), I finally acquired the loan to open The Jahva House. I’ve spent countless hours doing this research so that you can have a cup of coffee that’s equal to the quality of coffee in Seattle........if not better. Now that’s a bold statement.

If you live in Artesia, chances are you’ve heard about us and know we’re not open yet. And to answer everyone’s question, “I don’t know! I’ll get it open as soon as possible!” It’s been a lot of work and it’s taken much longer than I thought, but I promise you, it will be well worth the wait. What do you have to look forward to? Our extensive menu will include espresso drinks like you’ve NEVER tasted before, coffee so good we’ll have to kick you out, fresh baked gourmet pastries every morning, panini sandwiches with only the best ingredients and our homemade breads, desserts that taste as good as they look, our own Italian family recipe cheesecakes made fresh in the coffeehouse’s kitchen, fresh roasted coffee beans, a wide selection of loose leaf teas, gourmet confections and chocolates, ice cream, smoothies, flavored sodas, s’mores that you can make right at your table............have I tempted you yet?

BEFORE YOU GO, we want to ask you to do two things for us. First, sign up for our newsletter. We will be giving updates of how we’re progressing and when our projected opening date will be. After opening we will inform you of menu specials, our live music schedule, special events, and anything negative about Starbucks. Okay, so I’m kidding about the last. But if you hear something would you let ME know?

Second, keep us in your prayers. There are a lot of things that can go wrong when trying to do something of this nature. So far it’s been a battle, but nothing we didn’t expect. We’re going to make this coffeehouse the best we possibly can for you and that makes things really difficult.

Thank you for your interest and expect great things from us. The Jahva House will definitely be a diamond-in-the-rough. Our perfectionism and attention to detail may provide you with the best coffee you’ve ever tasted. If you want to find another cup as good as ours, you’ll have to catch the next flight to Seattle.
